Amazing Mondays

Amazing Mondays

The one thing you must be good at to be a top performer is imagination.  Most of us were able to use the gift of imagination with ease as a child.  As adults however, we have been taught to “Be realistic.”  We have been told to “Stay focused and stop daydreaming!”  Too bad that daydreaming is required for success!   Albert Einstein had this to say about the imagination, Imagination is more important than knowledge.  Knowledge is limited.  Imagination encircles the world.  So unless we want to limit our lives, which I know we don’t, we must build our imagination muscles.  First we have to give our brain a picture of what we want to create then we can figure out how to create it.  Imagination always comes first!

I can hear you saying, “I’m not good at picturing things.  I don’t have a great imagination.”  Hold on just a second and think about the last time you were really worried about something.  Maybe a loved one was late getting home and you couldn’t reach them on their cell phone.  How good were you at imagining all the horrible things that might have happened?  I’m betting you were pretty good at it!!  That’s the problem.  Most of us have become good at using our imagination to scare ourselves silly but have gotten a little rusty at using it to imagine what we want.  It’s time to change all that.  Here are a few steps to get started…

1.  Set aside a few minutes a day of quiet time to imagine what you want to create in your life.

2.  Start a journal where you write down what you are imagining.

3.  During this time you may not worry.  It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how you will reach your dreams.  The purpose of this time is to just imagine.
So get started today. Use your commute time to work or set aside a few minutes in the morning or right before bed. It won’t be long before you notice with joy that your imaginings have your become reality.

Have an amazing Monday!
